Buc-ee's Opens First Arizona Travel Center in Goodyear
Arizona’s first Buc‑ee’s travel center opened on Monday in Goodyear, featuring 120 fuel pumps and a 74,000‑square‑foot retail space. The opening ceremony included Governor Katie Hobbs and attracted large crowds of fans and curious travelers. The store offers the chain’s signature snacks, merchandise and hot‑food options and is only slightly smaller than the flagship location in Luling, Texas.
City officials implemented a special traffic plan for the event, directing vehicles to specific I‑10 exits on Bullard Avenue and closing the eastbound I‑10 ramp at Estrella Parkway. Drivers were urged to expect delays along a 6.5‑mile approach route and to consider alternate paths. The measures were intended to manage the surge of visitors and minimize disruption to local commuters and businesses.
