Buc-ee's Opens First Stores in Louisiana and Indiana

Construction is underway on Buc‑ee's first Louisiana travel center in Ruston, located off Interstate 20 at the Tarbutton Road exit. The site is slated to open in 2027, bringing the Texas‑based retailer to the state for the first time as part of its plan to add locations in seven new states.

In Indiana, Buc‑ee's will open its inaugural outlet in Richmond at the intersection of I‑70 and U.S. 27. Local planning documents project the 74,000‑square‑foot facility will create about 200 permanent jobs and generate significant tax revenue for the city. The development includes infrastructure upgrades funded partly by tax‑increment financing, and the company expects the large‑scale travel center to spur additional commercial activity nearby.

The expansions reflect Buc‑ee's broader strategy to move beyond its traditional Southern market into the Midwest, competing with established travel‑center chains by offering a destination‑shopping experience rather than focusing solely on fuel sales.
