Buc-ee's travel center in Ruston, Louisiana slated for April 2027 opening

Louisiana’s first Buc‑ee’s travel center is under construction on Interstate 20 in Ruston. The 74,000‑square‑foot facility, which will feature 120 fuel pumps, has its exterior walls and roof in place and interior walls are being erected. Mayor Ronny Walker says the project remains on schedule for an April 2027 opening, with some elements already ahead of schedule after an $8 million road‑improvement effort.

The center is expected to create about 200 jobs. Management positions will be posted in the coming months, and hiring for frontline staff could begin in October or November, with interviews at the Ruston Civic Center. Hourly wages start at $18, plus health, dental and vision benefits, paid time off and a 401(k) match. The city has invested more than $250 million in infrastructure over the past decade to support the development and anticipates further commercial and residential growth around the site.
