Buccheri hosts Blue Zone lunch event to promote healthy eating

The town of Buccheri is preparing for the “Blue Zone Lunch” event, scheduled for Sunday, October 18, at the Teatro Comunale. Reservations for the event have already reached maximum capacity and are officially closed.

The initiative, titled “From the Sea to the Iblei,” is a project promoted by the Municipality of Buccheri in collaboration with Tonno Drago and Olio Tondo. The program aims to highlight agro-food excellence and promote healthy lifestyles. Participants will learn about the production, storage, and traceability of extra virgin olive oil and tuna. Additionally, a nutritionist, in collaboration with LILT, will discuss the health benefits of incorporating fish and olive oil into a balanced diet.

The event will also feature “Colors from the Sea,” an exhibition of drawings created by local students following educational sessions with Olio Tondo. These artworks, depicting landscapes, fish, and olive trees, will be displayed throughout the theater. The project is co-financed by the European Union under the National FEAMPA 2021-2027 Program.
