Bucharest approves heliport tower for new Dinamo Stadium
Local authorities in Bucharest have issued a construction permit for a tower equipped with a heliport at the planned Dinamo Stadium. The heliport will serve the Floreasca Emergency Hospital, allowing SMURD helicopters to land directly at the south stand, where the statue of Cătălin Hîldan currently stands, and eliminating the need to transport patients from the Velodrome.
The sports club has also transferred a building to the hospital for conversion into a transfusion centre and a new emergency unit. A collaboration protocol signed by the Bucharest City Hall, the National Investment Company and Club Sportiv Dinamo coordinates the stadium works with the modernization of the nearby Grozăvești heating network. The multifunctional arena will hold 26,217 spectators, cost about €117 million, and will include a hotel for athletes, a museum, commercial spaces and halls for boxing, fencing and wrestling.
