Bucharest City Hall launches procurement for Constanța Bridge reconstruction

Bucharest City Hall has launched a procurement procedure for the technical-economic documentation required for a major infrastructure project in the northern part of the capital. The project involves the reconstruction of the Constanța Bridge and the reconfiguration of several key arteries, including Chitila Road, Bucureștii Noi Boulevard, and Calea Griviței.

The investment is divided into two stages. The first stage focuses on widening Calea Griviței to three lanes per direction, reconfiguring the intersection of Chitila Road and Bucureștii Noi Boulevard, and modernizing Bucureștii Noi Boulevard between Timișului Street and the Constanța Bridge. This stage also includes adding cycling paths and sidewalks.

The second stage aims to create an intermodal node connecting road, rail, and urban transport through passages over the median strip and railway lines. The estimated value for the contract to prepare the documentation is approximately 2.17 million lei excluding VAT. The project seeks to alleviate chronic traffic congestion, improve road safety, and reduce carbon emissions.
