Bucharest City Hall Owes Millions to Homeowners Associations, Says Specialist

Radu Opaina, founder of the Federation of Homeowners Associations of Romania, warned that the Bucharest City Hall is the largest debtor for maintenance fees in the country. He claims the municipality, which owns thousands of apartments in the capital, has accumulated arrears amounting to several million euros owed to owners' associations.

Opaina posted a video on TikTok urging residents to check payment records for any apartments owned by the city hall, noting that some associations are struggling financially because of these unpaid obligations. The city hall has not yet issued an official response to the allegations.
