Bucharest Food Week draws over 18,000 participants

The inaugural Bucharest Food Week concluded after a seven-day gastronomic event held from September 14 to 20. Organized by Călătorii și Farfurii, ialoc.ro, and Studio Maller, the initiative involved 151 participating establishments, including restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and gelaterias.

According to organizers, the event saw over 10,276 guests visit participating venues via online reservations, with an additional 2,000 people dining without reservations. Approximately 6,000 limited-edition products were also sold during the week. Co-founders Alexandra and Cătălin Cincu stated the event was designed to support the industry following a 30% decline in restaurant reservations in Bucharest during the first half of 2026 compared to the previous year.

The festival aimed to encourage residents to discover new locations through accessible pricing tiers of 69, 119, and 189 lei per person. Data indicated the initiative successfully introduced diners to new venues, with 84.7% of those who booked through the official platform visiting those specific restaurants for the first time.
