Bucharest International Piano Festival to debut at Ateneul Român

The inaugural Bucharest International Piano Festival is scheduled to take place from September 22 to 26, 2026, at the Ateneul Român. Organized to address a demand in the Romanian market for large-scale piano events, the festival focuses on the intimacy and challenge of solo piano recitals.

The program features several prominent artists, including Mădălina Pașol, Cătălin Șerban, David Kadouch, Mihai Ritivoiu, and Khatia Buniatishvili. Performances will span various musical eras and styles, covering composers such as Bach, Chopin, Liszt, Enescu, Debussy, and Rachmaninov.

Pianist Cătălin Șerban, who studied in Berlin and Lübeck, is set to perform on September 23. His career includes solo performances, chamber music, and pedagogical work, alongside curatorial projects like the Spielende Insel series in Berlin.
