Bucharest plans two new radial roads to connect southern sectors to A0 motorway

Bucharest City Hall has launched a public consultation process to gather demographic and socio-economic data for the development of two new radial roads: Radial Road 9 (South Express) and Radial Road 10 (Măgurele Express). Residents, property owners, and commuters are invited to complete questionnaires by September 4 to help shape the zonal urban planning (PUZ) studies.

Radial Road 9 is designed to connect the Vidra area, the A0 motorway, the DNCB, and the Metalurgiei Boulevard/Progresul Station area. Radial Road 10 aims to provide a connection between the A0 motorway, Măgurele, the Măgurele Industrial Park, the DNCB, and the Ferentari extension.

The urban planning studies are expected to be finalized by next year, with construction works scheduled to begin in 2028. The project will be managed by the Intercommunity Development Association of the Bucharest Metropolitan Area in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport.
