Bucharest STB announces station relocation and new noise‑fine policy

The Societatea de Transport București (STB) will temporarily relocate the Aeroport Băneasa bus stop about 65 metres to the intersection of Şos. Bucureşti‑Ploieşti, Bd. Ion Ionescu de la Brad and Bd. Aerogării. The change takes effect on Monday, 10 August 2026 and applies to lines 100, 196, 203, 304, 335, 441, 441B, 442, 443, 443B, 444, 446, 448 and 477.

STB also plans to impose fines on passengers who speak on speaker phones or play music without headphones. The measure follows a petition by journalist Georgiana Mihalcea, whose autistic son is sensitive to loud noises. An information campaign will precede inspections, and Metrorex will broadcast audio reminders urging travelers to keep quiet.
