Bucharest Stock Exchange indices reach new record highs

The Bucharest Stock Exchange has experienced significant activity, characterized by record highs for several indices and varying performance across different market sectors.

During a recent period of growth, the BET-FI financial index saw substantial gains, rising 4.68 percent in a single week to reach a record 115,684.49 points. The main BET index also reached a record of 36,487.21 points before closing the week with a 1.12 percent increase. Other indices, including the ROTX and the energy sector index, also recorded upward movement or reached new peaks.

Trading volumes have remained robust, frequently exceeding 500 million lei. Key contributors to market liquidity include the Proprietatea fund, Banca Transilvania, and Romgaz. In more recent sessions, the market has shown signs of consolidation, with the BET index posting slight gains of 0.10 percent while the BET-FI and BETAeRO indices experienced minor declines.
