Bucharest Stock Exchange market capitalization falls by 4.74 billion lei

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) saw its market capitalization decrease by 4.74 billion lei (-0.66%) during the week of August 31 to September 4, 2026. Total capitalization reached 713.09 billion lei, down from 717.83 billion lei the previous week.

Despite the drop in capitalization, the value of share transactions increased significantly by 74.6%, rising to 787.23 million lei compared to 450.86 million lei in the prior week. The main BET index closed the week at 34,414.30 points.

Digi Communications NV was the most liquid stock on the main segment, with transactions totaling 240.19 million lei and a price decline of 3.17%. Other notable liquid stocks included Banca Transilvania, which saw a 1.21% depreciation, and Romgaz, which fell by 6.29%.

Significant stock increases were recorded by Comcm Constanţa (+15.86%), Rompetrol Rafinare (+10.00%), and Electro-Alfa International (+9.90%). Conversely, the largest declines were seen in Uamt (-20.27%), Sinteza (-12.26%), and Conted (-10.81%).
