Bucharest Stock Exchange posts green first session in August, 126 million lei traded

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) closed its first trading session of August with gains across all its main indices. Total transaction volume reached 126.49 million lei (about €24.11 million). The flagship BET index rose 0.80% to 36,444.40 points, while BET‑Plus, BET‑XT, BET‑BK, BET‑FI, BET‑NG and BETAeRO all posted modest advances.

The most liquid shares were Banca Transilvania (21.56 million lei traded), OMV Petrom (10.75 million lei) and the BT Index Romania ETF (8.83 million lei). Top performers included Turism, Hoteluri, Restaurante Marea Neagră (+8.44%), Aerostar (+7.18%) and Crist‑Tim Family Holding (+6.98%). Declining stocks were Electroaparataj (‑7.41%), Comelf (‑5.44%) and Electromagnetica (‑3.33%).
