Bucharest Stock Exchange sees volatility amid energy and tech losses

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) experienced a week of volatility between September 7 and 11, 2026, characterized by mixed indicators and a slight increase in trading volume to 57.5 million shares. The market showed polarized dynamics, with modest gains in the real estate and beverage sectors contrasting with significant losses in the energy and technology sectors.

Top performers included Premier Kapital, which rose 3.33% to 62 RON, and Purcari Wineries, which saw a 1.55% increase to 19.70 RON. Conversely, the utility and telecommunications sectors faced heavy corrections, with Nuclearelectrica dropping 8.55% and Romgaz falling 7.85%. OMV Petrom remained the most heavily traded stock with a volume of 38.52 million shares.
