Bucharest thermal network modernization to affect 1,800 blocks
Compania Municipală Termoenergetica București (CMTEB) S.A. has announced major modernization works on the primary thermal network in Sectors 4 and 5 of Bucharest. These projects, funded by European funds and the state budget under the POIM rehabilitation program, will result in temporary hot water outages for approximately 1,840 apartment blocks.
In Sector 5, works will take place near the intersection of Nuțu Ion Street and Drumul Taberei, involving a 600 mm diameter primary pipe. The intervention affects 48 thermal points serving roughly 743 blocks, including areas such as Calea Ferentari, Calea Rahovei, and Șoseaua Alexandriei. These works are scheduled from September 28 to September 30, with full service expected to be restored by October 3.
In Sector 4, the project targets a 1,100 mm main pipe. The impact area is extensive, covering zones between Bulevardul Turnu Măgurele, Bulevardul Constantin Brâncoveanu, Șoseaua Berceni, and Șoseaua Giurgiului, among others. This phase affects 72 thermal points and two thermal modules, impacting approximately 1,100 blocks. These works are expected to continue until October 9.
