Bucharest to host Overtones and Orizont Sonor arts festivals

Bucharest will host two significant cultural projects focusing on niche and experimental arts. The Overtones project is scheduled to debut from October 15–18, 2026, at Galeria Scânteia+ in Bucharest. This series of four interdisciplinary shows features 20 young artists from Romania, Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. The program includes experimental performances involving silent films accompanied by Renaissance and Baroque music, psychedelic concerts dedicated to musical avant-garde, and participatory tarot readings involving sound.

Additionally, the third edition of the Orizont Sonor Festival will take place at Echoes Haus on September 24–25, 2026. Organized through a partnership between the Goethe-Institut, the French Institute, the Austrian Cultural Forum, and the Italian Institute, the festival focuses on acoustic innovation and radio theater. The event features European creators from France, Austria, and Italy, alongside a month-long mentorship workshop designed to guide young Romanian professionals in the production of short radio fiction.
