Traffic disruptions reported across Romania and Moldova

Multiple regions in Romania and Moldova are experiencing significant traffic disruptions due to infrastructure issues, roadworks, and scheduled events.

In Bucharest, approximately 35 intersections are facing malfunctioning traffic lights due to power supply issues or intermittent yellow signals. The Romanian Road Brigade has deployed officers to manage traffic in major areas, including Arcul de Triumf and Piața Sudului. Additionally, road maintenance on Bulevardul Revoluției 1989 and Calea Martirilor 1989 will cause phased closures and diversions. In Sibiu, roadworks near the airport have caused heavy congestion, and in Timișoara, public transport line 16 is being rerouted due to the National Super Rally championship.

In Chisinau, traffic will be temporarily suspended on Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard for Independence Day ceremony rehearsals. Meanwhile, Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tofan has criticized excessive bureaucracy affecting local businesses, specifically citing the complex accreditation requirements for the medical tourism sector.
