Bucharest unemployment falls to 0.42% in June

The Municipal Agency for Employment in Bucharest (AMOFM) reported that 5,512 people were registered as unemployed in the capital during June, lowering the unemployment rate to 0.42% from 0.43% in May – a 2.33% decrease. Of the registered job‑seekers, 1,956 received unemployment benefits while 3,556 were without any income. All were urban residents, with no rural unemployed counted. Women accounted for 3,419 of the unemployed. Educational breakdown showed 35.29% held a high‑school diploma, 29.9% had higher education, 15.53% completed vocational school, 15.11% had middle‑school education, 3.01% post‑high‑school training, and 1.16% only primary or no schooling. Based on employability profiling, 997 were classified as very hard to employ, 1,638 as hard, 1,642 as medium, and 1,235 as easy to place.
