Bucheon City reports 1.11 million carbon neutrality actions

Bucheon City has reported that cumulative participation in environmental activities via its Carbon Neutrality Platform has exceeded 1.11 million instances as of October. The platform tracks various daily practices, including energy conservation, resource circulation, and environmental education.

Through the ‘Carbonium Network,’ local organizations and institutions share and manage their environmental efforts. Participating groups include the Bucheon Sustainable Development Council, which conducts tree surveys and reusable container campaigns; Sanzero Cooperative and Bucheon Barom, focusing on milk carton recycling; and the Bucheon Daycare Center Association, which shares environmental education practices. Additionally, Bucheon St. Mary's Hospital utilizes tumbler washers and food waste reduction scales.

Local groups can register with the network to receive official ‘Carbonium Certificates’ from the city. Individual citizens can also use the platform to locate amenities like tumbler washers or participate in energy-saving programs. The city aims to support the expansion of carbon-neutral practices across the community by providing a system to record and share these activities.
