Buckingham Palace receives Prince Andrew's controversial email archive

The Buckingham Palace handed over a file of about 30,000 emails that pertain to Prince Andrew's disputed financial dealings. The archive shows the former royal shared confidential government information while acting as a commercial envoy, and it was passed to Lord Chamberlain in May 2020, with earlier copies delivered to palace officials years before the current investigations.

Thames Valley Police are conducting an inquiry into Prince Andrew following his recent arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office and have appealed to the public for information. Court records reveal Supreme Court decisions in 2021 and 2022 that reference the email copy being provided to the Palace.

The emails also expose connections to Icelandic banking problems involving the Rowland family and Banque Havilland, transactions that later attracted regulatory sanctions in the United Kingdom and the European Union. The Palace declined to comment, citing the ongoing police investigation.
