Budai Egészségközpont undergoes major expansion and modernization
The development of the Budai Egészségközpont and the National Spine Surgery Center in Budapest is progressing significantly. The project involves the comprehensive modernization of existing structures and the construction of a new 22,600-square-meter wing, known as the C block.
The first major phase is complete, with the renovation of the A and B blocks. The A block, originally built in 1939, underwent structural reinforcement using jet grouting technology, along with new insulation, windows, and mechanical systems. Operating rooms have been modernized to accommodate advanced equipment, including robotic technology. This allows the National Spine Surgery Center to continue its publicly funded services within the complex.
Construction of the new C block is underway, featuring three levels of underground parking, four patient care levels, and a mechanical roof level. The structure utilized approximately 17,000 cubic meters of concrete and 2,300 tons of reinforcing steel. The new wing will house outpatient clinics, patient rooms, a screening center, and an emergency ambulance service. The entire complex is scheduled for completion by the autumn of 2027.
