Budai Seafood Carnival to feature thousand-person banquet

The 2026 Budai Seafood Carnival is scheduled to take place on October 3 in Budai Town, Chiayi County. A central feature of the event is the ‘Thousand-Person Seafood Banquet,’ which will consist of 100 tables serving local seafood delicacies.

Local officials, including Chiayi County Magistrate Weng Chang-liang and Budai Mayor Tsai Wei-chieh, held a promotional press conference to highlight the event. The banquet will feature an eight-course menu utilizing regional ingredients such as eel, milkfish, sea bass, and white shrimp. Each table is priced at 4,500 TWD.

In addition to the culinary offerings, the festival will include musical performances by artists such as Show Lan Maya and Zhu Yu-qing. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a lucky draw for prizes including televisions and bicycles.
