Budapest Airport hits record monthly passenger traffic

Budapest Airport has reached a historical milestone in passenger traffic, with monthly passenger numbers exceeding two million for the first time in July and August. This growth is driven by high demand for transatlantic and Asian flights, alongside an increase in domestic travel.

Due to a strong forint, the proportion of Hungarian travelers increased from 28 percent in the first half of last year to 37 percent during the same period this year. To manage the surge and minimize delays, the airport and HungaroControl have implemented organizational changes and increased staffing in air traffic control and ground services.
