Budapest Airport hits record passenger numbers in September

Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport recorded nearly two million passengers in September, continuing a trend of record-breaking growth following a strong summer season. During the three summer months of July, August, and September, the airport handled over 6.2 million passengers.

The airport's growth is attributed to a route development strategy that expanded service to 160 destinations, including 24 new routes during the summer schedule. London emerged as the most popular destination from Budapest, followed by Istanbul, Antalya, and Frankfurt. Significant increases in passenger traffic were also noted for travel to Spain, Greece, France, and Italy.

In addition to passenger growth, the airport maintained its regional leadership in air cargo handling. The facility has consistently reached new passenger records over the last three years.
