Budapest and New York lead autumn travel preferences for Spaniards

Budapest and New York City have emerged as the top preferred destinations for Spanish travelers during the autumn season. Data from Central de Vacaciones indicates a growing trend of travelers opting for the mid-season period between September and November to avoid the peak summer crowds and high costs.

Travelers are increasingly seeking more favorable prices, milder temperatures, and less crowded locations. This shift is contributing to a fragmentation of holiday schedules, moving away from the traditional concentration in July and August. Beyond these two leaders, other popular international destinations include Paris, Rome, Tokyo, and various locations in the Caribbean and Asia.

Within Spain, Madrid and Barcelona remain the primary favorites, followed by destinations such as Salou, Ibiza, and Tenerife. Demographic data from ObservaTUR also highlights that travelers aged 65 to 74 represent a significant portion of this seasonal market.
