Budapest apartment building fire on Stefánia út

A significant fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon in a residential building on Stefánia út in the XIV district of Budapest, located near the Puskás Aréna. The blaze affected the roof and spread to two apartments and three balconies, threatening neighboring buildings.

Approximately 20 residents fled the building, with some evacuating with children and pets in hand. The fire rendered the building temporarily uninhabitable, forcing residents to seek shelter with relatives.

Emergency response efforts involved 57 firefighters and 17 vehicles, including professional units from Budapest and volunteer firefighters from Zugló. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
