Budapest Book Festival experts discuss child school integration

Psychologists and authors discussed the challenges children face when integrating into new school and kindergarten environments. During a panel at the Budapest International Book Festival, experts highlighted that successful integration is not merely defined by a child following rules or remaining quiet, as these behaviors can sometimes mask underlying stress.

Zsofia Záborszky and Petra Zsirai, author of the children's book ‘Megjöttünk!’, emphasized the importance of observing a child's specific environment and triggers. They noted that factors such as noisy social settings, new faces, or unexpected changes can impact children differently. The discussion also coincided with Mental Health Day, underscoring the need to support children's psychological well-being during seasonal transitions.
