Budapest cemeteries announce extended hours for All Saints' Day

Budapesti Közművek has announced extended opening hours for Budapest's public cemeteries to accommodate visitors during the All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day period. From October 30 to November 2, various cemeteries, including Új Köztemető, Farkasréti, and Óbudai, will be open from 7:00 to 20:00.

Several commemorative events are scheduled. Farkasréti cemetery will host an ecumenical service on November 1, while Új Köztemető will feature light and music displays with fountain activations on October 31 and November 1. Joint candle-lighting ceremonies will also take place at Új Köztemető, Farkasréti, and Óbudai cemeteries on November 1.

To maintain tranquility, vehicle access to most municipal cemeteries will be prohibited on October 31 and November 1, with the exception of Új Köztemető. At Új Köztemető, vehicle entry will be free of charge from the opening on October 31 until the close on November 1, as well as on October 23.
