Budapest Children's Railway hosts Night of Locomotives celebration

On Saturday, 18 July 2026, the Gyermekvasút (Children's Railway) on Budakeszi Hill in Budapest will run a special "Night of Locomotives" program from 19:00 to 23:00. Trains will operate every 35 minutes between the Hűvösvölgy and Szépjuhászné stations, featuring a green C50, a red MK48, a traditional MK45 locomotive and a newly introduced panoramic car with distinctive night lighting. A freight train hauled by an MK48 will also run during the evening. Tickets are sold at standard fare – 1,000 Ft for an adult single ride (or 1,800 Ft for a transfer) and 500 Ft for a child (900 Ft for a transfer). The Gyermekvasút museum will stay open from 19:45 to 22:30, and photographers can capture the lined‑up locomotives at Hárshegy station and from the panorama arch that offers city views.
