Budapest extends July nostalgic tram and bus service
Budapest’s public‑transport authority (BKK) announced that the city’s nostalgic‑vehicle season will run throughout July. Vintage trams on line N2 will operate on Saturdays along the Pest riverside, while historic trams on line N19 will run on Sundays along the Buda Danube banks. A heritage bus (line N4) connects Zugló with Zugliget on Sundays, and several nostalgic trolley‑bus runs are also planned.
The programme highlights include the 1960s “Bengali” tram on line N2, the open‑top Ikarus convertible bus on line N109, and restored Ikarus 280T trolley‑buses. Other featured vehicles are a 1911 BVVV K motor coach, a 1908 wooden tram and a Soviet‑made ZiU‑9 trolley‑bus. Tickets are sold through the BudapestGO app, BKK customer centres, and onboard with card payment.
