Budapest hosts consecration of Temple of the Three Hierarchs

On August 20, 2026, the Metropolitan of Austria and Exarch of Hungary performed the consecration of the Holy Temple of the Three Hierarchs in Budapest. The ceremony took place at the Fanarion Orthodox Christian Dialogue Center, which will serve as the seat of the Exarchate of Hungary.

The temple is dedicated to Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom. The event coincided with the Hungarian National Day and the Church's commemoration of the Hungarian Illuminators, Bishops Hierotheos and Stephen the King. The Metropolitan was joined by Bishops Paisios of Apamea and Maximos of Arista during the liturgy.
