Budapest hosts Junior World Synchronized Swimming Championships

The Junior World Synchronized Swimming Championships are set to begin in Budapest at the Duna Aréna. Eszter Erdős, chair of the technical committee of the Hungarian Synchronized Swimming Association, stated that 231 athletes from 36 countries will compete in 235 routines.

Only four nations—Colombia, Spain, China, and Russia—are represented in all 11 competition categories. The Hungarian national team, consisting of 12 athletes, is participating in six disciplines, including individual technical and free programs, duet programs, team programs, and acrobatic routines. Erdős noted that the team skipped the senior European Championships to focus on peak performance for this home championship, which serves as a primary test for next year’s senior world championships.

Attendance is free, though prior registration via Eventbrite is required.
