Victor Vasarely 120th Birthday Exhibition Opens in Budapest

The Szépművészeti Múzeum in Budapest has opened a major exhibition celebrating the 120th anniversary of Victor Vasarely's birth. Featuring more than 140 works, the show presents the Hungarian-born artist’s geometric abstractions and op‑art contributions, complemented by previously unseen photographs, videos and documents. Guided tours begin on July 17 at 16:30, and the exhibition runs until August 17.

The program also includes related cultural events, such as an improvised music burlesque performance of Buster Keaton’s “The Younger Steam” at the Magyar Zene Háza on July 22, and the interactive “MTA in Motion” science exhibition, which will travel to Balatonfüred from July 23 as part of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences' 200‑year celebration.
