Budapest M2 metro: Two individuals filmed riding on top of moving train

Two masked individuals were filmed riding on top of a Budapest M2 metro train between the Puskás Ferenc Stadion and Pillangó utca stations. The video, which circulated on social media, shows the individuals running from one carriage to another while the train was in motion.

Budapest Transport Company (BKV) issued a warning regarding the incident, stating that riding on top of a train is strictly prohibited and life-threatening. BKV noted that the tunnel provides very little clearance between the vehicle and overhead cables, structures, and ventilation equipment. Additionally, the 825-volt third rail used for power poses a fatal electrocution risk.

Police have confirmed they are investigating the circumstances of the event following a report. BKV stated they will review the footage to incorporate findings into their safety and prevention measures.
