Budapest theaters announce upcoming seasonal programming

Budapest theaters have announced their upcoming programming for October and November.

Centrál Színház will debut three new productions on its small stage in October. These include David Ireland’s ‘The Fifth Step’, a play exploring addiction through humor, which is being performed in memory of Péter Scherer. Other upcoming shows include Judit Schell’s musical solo performance ‘Ragyogj, Shirley’ and Dóra Szinetár’s ‘A Világtörténelem legjobb színdarabjában’.

The National Theatre (Nemzeti Színház) has released its November schedule. The main stage will feature classics such as ‘The Master and Margarita’, ‘Bánk bán’, and ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’, alongside a production exploring the life of Karl Marx. Smaller venues will host a variety of comedies and personal dramas, including works by Ferenc Molnár and Thornton Wilder.
