Budapest's historic architecture highlighted in new quiz and photo showcase

A Hungarian quiz challenges participants to identify famous historic buildings from photographs, featuring landmarks such as London’s The Shard (designed by Renzo Piano), the Tower of London, the Alhambra and the Potala Palace. The quiz notes that only about one in ten respondents correctly recognize all images.

A separate photo series compares Budapest’s cityscape a century ago with today, illustrating the evolution of key sites like Andrássy Avenue, the Szabadság (Liberty) Bridge, the Hungarian Parliament, the Vajdahunyad Castle area and the historic baths. The comparison highlights how 19th‑century developments such as the underground railway and modernized stations have shaped the modern capital’s appearance.
