Buddy Guy celebrated with sold-out concert at Radio City Music Hall

Blues legend Buddy Guy was celebrated with a sold-out ‘Buddy’s Got the Blues’ concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York. The three-hour-plus event, held two months after his 90th birthday, featured a house band led by Rolling Stones drummer Steve Jordan and a variety of guest musicians.

Performers included John Mayer, Eric Gales, Joe Bonamassa, Susan Tedeschi, and Derek Trucks. Guy himself opened the show with an acoustic performance of John Lee Hooker’s ‘I’m in the Mood’ before transitioning to electric guitar. He also performed duets with Shemekia Copeland and Bobby Rush, concluding the night with a group performance of ‘Got My Mojo Workin’.

Guy’s team announced that a new album is scheduled for release next year, produced by Steve Jordan and featuring contributions from Ivan Neville and Willie Weeks.
