Budenheim sports clubs begin new competitive seasons

Sports clubs in Budenheim have commenced their new competitive seasons across different disciplines.

In football, FV Budenheim has entered the Bezirksliga following a promotion. After an intensive summer preparation involving matches against higher-tier teams and success in the regional cup, the first team secured a victory against Basara Mainz before facing three consecutive losses. The squad features a mix of youth talent and experienced players, including new signing Stefan Nedyalkov, formerly of the Bulgarian third division. The team currently sits in 11th place after four matchdays.

In handball, the SF Budenheim B-youth team began its Regionalliga Südwest season with a 25:21 away victory against TuS Dansenberg. The win comes despite coaching challenges following the indefinite absence of head coach André Sikora-Schermuly. Co-trainer Kiyan Hadjebi has taken a leading role, supported by various club staff, to manage the team during this transition.
