Budgam MLA seeks Union Minister intervention on water projects

Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi, the MLA for Budgam, met with Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti Raj Bhushan Choudhary in New Delhi to address critical delays in regional water infrastructure. Mehdi highlighted several stalled water supply schemes, including Arath-Churpora, Chatbug-Wadwan, Hurr-Zoorigund, Ichgam, Paller-Lakripora, Ghariand Khurd, and Humhama.

In addition to the delays in Budgam, Mehdi raised concerns regarding acute water scarcity in Nowgam Sumbal within the Bandipora district. He also requested the clearance of outstanding payments to contractors, which reportedly amount to hundreds of crores of rupees. Minister Choudhary assured the MLA that he would examine the issues and provide assistance to address the water supply concerns.
