Budgam security forces kill Pakistani LeT commander Yasir

Security forces have neutralized a Pakistani terrorist identified as Yasir during ‘Operation Ashdar’ in the Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. The joint operation involved the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the CRPF.

Yasir, a member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), had previously been part of Suleman Musa’s group before operating independently for approximately one year. He had emerged as a prominent commander in the Yusmarg area. Security agencies have linked him to at least five major terror attacks in the region, including incidents involving military personnel and civilian porters.

The encounter took place in the rugged, high-altitude forested terrain of the Ashdar Gali area. During the exchange of fire, security forces recovered an AK-series rifle and other war-like stores. While Yasir was killed, a second terrorist is believed to have escaped into the dense forest, prompting ongoing search and combing operations in the Pir Panjal range.
