Budi Gunadi Sadikin prepared to leave Health Ministry for WHO role

Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin has expressed readiness to step down from his current position if appointed as the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO). He stated that the candidacy is a mandate from President Prabowo Subianto.

President Subianto aims to increase Indonesia’s representation within United Nations-level leadership. Budi noted that the President sees an opportunity for Indonesia to play a role in the reform of international organizations, a move supported by several WHO member states.
