Budva hosts tenth anniversary of Ćirilicom festival

The tenth anniversary edition of the ‘Ćirilicom’ festival is set to open on August 24 in Budva, Montenegro. Held at the Square Between Churches in the Old Town, the multidisciplinary event will run until September 15.

This milestone edition features a wide array of programming, including theater and opera premieres, concerts, literary events, and visual arts. The festival aims to connect literature, music, and theater with the cultural and spiritual heritage of Budva and Montenegro. Key highlights include a book promotion for ‘Ćirilo i Metodije, who are you’ and an exhibition titled ‘I bi slovo’ by artist Milivoj Babović at the Santa Maria in Punta church.

The festival will conclude with a conversation with Dušan Kovačević and the presentation of the ‘Sveti Stefan Štiljanović’ award. Since its inception in 2017, the event has evolved from a literary gathering into a major cultural hub, previously hosting notable international figures such as Nobel laureate Olga Tokarczuk.
