Budva taxi driver sentenced to 36 days in prison for drug offenses

A taxi driver from Podgorica, identified as N. M. (40), has been sentenced to a total of 36 days in prison after operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs on two consecutive nights in Budva.

According to the Budva Misdemeanor Court, the first incident occurred on August 14, 2026, around 02:30 in Filipa Kovačevića Street. During this encounter, the driver refused a drug test, resulting in a 15-day prison sentence and a six-month ban on driving category B vehicles.

The following night, around 00:15 on August 15, police intercepted the driver again in Mediteranska Street. Upon undergoing testing this time, the driver tested positive for cocaine. This second offense resulted in an additional 21-day prison sentence and a further six-month driving ban.
