Buenaventura Regata Pacífico 2026 suspended following earthquake

The Organizing Committee of the Regata Pacífico Buenaventura 2026 has announced the suspension of the event, which was scheduled for September 19 and 20. The decision was made unanimously to show solidarity with the families and communities in the Valle del Cauca Pacific region affected by the earthquake that occurred on August 10.

Organizers stated that they are prioritizing collective well-being over sporting or commercial interests due to the emergency situation in the country and specifically in the district of Buenaventura. The committee expressed its support for the earthquake victims and is working on logistical adjustments to reschedule the competition once conditions allow.
