Buenos Aires advances bidding for US$1.35 billion Line F subway
The government of Buenos Aires has advanced the bidding process for the construction of Subway Line F, a major infrastructure project designed to connect the Barracas and Palermo neighborhoods. The project involves an estimated investment of US$1.35 billion and will feature 12 stations spanning 9.8 kilometers.
Two consortia have submitted technical proposals for the project. The first group includes CITIC Construction, Ranken Railway Construction, Supercemento, Eleprint, and Panedile. The second group consists of Roggio and Ghella. Following the technical evaluation, economic offers will be reviewed. The contract is expected to be awarded in December, with construction scheduled to begin in early 2027.
Line F is intended to facilitate north-south travel for approximately 300,000 daily passengers, providing connections to six existing subway lines and two railway services, including the Roca and San Martín lines. This marks the first new subway line announcement in the city in 25 years.
