Buenos Aires advances school infrastructure through restoration and new construction

The Government of the City of Buenos Aires has completed the restoration of the Mariano Moreno School (Colegio N.° 3 D. E. 2), a historic institution in the Almagro neighborhood. The 11-month project focused on preserving the building's architectural heritage, which was declared a Historical and Cultural Heritage site in 2010. Key improvements include the restoration of the Assembly Hall, which had been unusable for over a decade, as well as the original 178-piece stained glass, floors, ceilings, and the historic mansard.

Simultaneously, construction is progressing on the new Indira Gandhi School in the Barrio Mugica area of Retiro. This new facility is designed for initial and primary education levels and is expected to provide 330 new student vacancies. The project includes eight primary classrooms, five initial level rooms, a dining hall, a gymnasium, a laboratory, a library, and digital activity spaces.
