Buenos Aires AI Education Model Showcased as Latin America Explores Future Learning

The City of Buenos Aires presented its artificial‑intelligence (AI) education model at a regional Google for Education meeting in Chile. Victoria Ezcurra, operational manager of Digital Education for the city's Ministry of Education, detailed the initiative, which is part of the "Plan Buenos Aires Aprende" launching in 2025. More than 30,000 teachers have been trained on AI tools, over 2,000 AI‑powered assistants have been deployed in classrooms, and the "Ciudad Ágora IA" program engaged more than 380 students in technology projects.

Separately, David Garza, rector and president of Tec de Monterrey, addressed the International Congress of Educational Innovation (CIIE 2021). He argued that post‑COVID education will become “multidiverse,” combining in‑person, online, hybrid and immersive virtual formats, and highlighted the potential of Web‑3, virtual and augmented reality for learning. The conference attracted over 5,000 participants from 34 countries, with Mexican officials and Institute for the Future of Education representatives also speaking.
