Buenos Aires detects new positive dengue case
A new positive case of dengue has been detected in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA), which is currently under epidemiological investigation. According to the National Epidemiological Bulletin (BEN) for epidemiological week 30, there were 117 suspected cases notified during this period.
For the current season, the total number of confirmed cases has reached 70, with 32 of those located in the Buenos Aires jurisdiction. Of the suspected cases reported in the last week, 57 were ruled out, 2 were classified as probable, and 57 remain under study.
The National Ministry of Health has urged jurisdictions to finalize diagnoses for probable cases through exhaustive laboratory studies and to maintain sensitive surveillance to detect any resurgence of local transmission. Regarding chikungunya, no new confirmed cases with symptom onset after week 29 have been reported, though the 2025-2026 season has seen 3,618 confirmed or probable cases, mostly concentrated in the NOA region.
