Governor Axel Kicillof heads multisectoral dialogue event in Buenos Aires Province
On Saturday, July 18, 2026, Governor Axel Kicillof attended the “Jornada Patria por la Cultura del Encuentro” at the Pequeño Cottolengo Don Orione in Almirante Brown, Buenos Aires Province. The event, organized by the Pastoral Social of the Buenos Aires region, brought together more than 500 participants from politics, the Catholic Church, the judiciary, unions, universities and business.
The governor, joined by Vice‑Governor Verónica Magario, bishops, judges such as Federal Court of Cassation judge Alejandro Slokar, university rectors and municipal leaders, highlighted the need for plural dialogue.
The participants drafted a joint document warning that deep polarization was fragmenting the metropolitan region and calling for a return to common values inspired by Pope Francis and Pope Leo XIV.
The gathering also included a visit to residents of the centre, which provides education and therapeutic support to more than 400 people with disabilities.
